Night Leaves
Made during the first COVID-19 lockdown in Australia. We were allowed outside for an hour each day for exercise. I would collect bits of the park I was walking through and place them onto a high resolution flatbed scanner. This was done in the evening in the dark to allow minimal background interference from having the scanner open to the room. It connected to me to nature when I couldn't really leave my home much - when shared on social media it resonated with a lot of people who probably at that time needed to have the same connections. I don't see these as high art in any capacity, but I do like that it was art to fill a need caused by a force I couldn't control.
